Terms of Use

Last update: August 12, 2026

Effective date: August 12, 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our mobile application, related websites, and services (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be legally capable of entering into these Terms under the laws that apply to you. If you have not reached the age required to consent to the processing of personal data in your location, you may use the Service only with the authorization and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

You may not create an account for another person or use the Service on another person's device without their knowledge and permission.

2. Accounts

The first release uses Sign in with Apple for account authentication. You are responsible for maintaining control of your Apple account and device and for activities performed through your account for the Service.

Version 1.0 of the Service does not promise cross-device synchronization, recovery of circles or history on a replacement device, or migration of data between accounts. You must provide accurate profile information and promptly notify us if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.

3. How location sharing works

The Service enables voluntary location sharing among family members and trusted friends in private circles. A person must install the app, accept a circle invitation, and grant the relevant device permissions before their location can be shared.

By joining a circle and enabling location sharing, you instruct us to make your shared location and related status available to members of that circle. Depending on your settings and feature use, members may also see your last update time, online status, distance, and shared battery level. You can pause location sharing or battery sharing in Settings. Pausing sharing may limit features that rely on that information.

Location information may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate because of device settings, GPS conditions, network availability, battery optimization, iOS background restrictions, or other factors outside our control. Do not rely on the Service as the sole source of a person's location or safety status.

4. Circles and invitations

You may create circles and invite people using an invitation code, QR code, link, or the system share sheet. Keep invitation credentials private and share them only with intended recipients. Anyone who obtains a valid invitation credential may be able to request access to the associated circle.

Circle members are responsible for confirming the identity of people they invite or accept. A circle creator may manage circle information and members as supported by the current version. Feature availability and circle-management permissions may change as the Service evolves.

5. Places, history, and notifications

The Service may let you create places, configure arrival or departure notifications, and review available location or SOS history. Place alerts and push notifications are provided for convenience and may be delayed, duplicated, or not delivered. Place records are subject to the visibility and notification settings shown in the app.

You are responsible for choosing appropriate place names, locations, radii, and recipients and for ensuring that your use complies with applicable law and the reasonable expectations of circle members.

6. SOS feature and emergency disclaimer

The SOS feature sends an in-app and/or push alert to members of your current circle and may include your latest available location. If location is unavailable, the alert may show an unknown-location status.

The Service is not an emergency service, public safety answering point, monitoring center, medical service, or rescue provider. We do not contact police, ambulance, fire, or other emergency responders on your behalf. SOS delivery and location accuracy are not guaranteed. In an emergency, contact the appropriate local emergency service directly.

7. Acceptable use

You must not:

We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect users, comply with law, investigate abuse, or secure the Service.

8. Your content and instructions

You retain rights in profile information, circle names, place names, and other content you submit. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, transmit, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the Service and to comply with law.

You represent that you have the necessary rights and permissions to submit content and to invite other people. You are responsible for content and instructions submitted through your account.

9. Permissions and third-party services

Some features rely on Apple services and device capabilities, including Sign in with Apple, Location Services, Apple Maps, and Apple Push Notification service. Your use of those services may also be governed by Apple's terms and privacy policies. You may decline or revoke device permissions, but affected features may stop working or provide limited results.

10. Account deletion and termination

You may initiate permanent account deletion in the app under Settings → Account → Delete Account. Deletion stops account access, location sharing, and push notifications. Associated data is deleted according to the timeframes described in the Privacy Policy, except information we must retain by law or for narrowly limited security purposes.

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially or repeatedly violate these Terms, create a risk of harm, or if required by law. Where appropriate, we will provide notice and an opportunity to address the issue.

11. Service changes

We may update, add, or remove features to maintain security, improve performance, comply with law, or develop the Service. We do not guarantee that every feature will always be available in every location, on every device, or under every network condition.

12. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant uninterrupted operation, precise or continuous location updates, successful delivery of alerts, or that the Service will meet every safety need. Nothing in these Terms excludes any warranty or consumer right that cannot legally be excluded.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of data, profits, goodwill, or opportunities arising from use of or inability to use the Service.

14. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to be responsible for losses, claims, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of another person's rights.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by applicable local laws. Before initiating formal proceedings, you and we agree to make a good-faith effort to resolve any dispute by contacting the other party. If the dispute cannot be resolved through consultation, it may be submitted to a competent local authority with jurisdiction in accordance with applicable law.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If a change materially affects your rights or use of the Service, we will provide reasonable notice in the app or by another appropriate method. The “Effective date” above shows when the current version takes effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
